WATCH – Sanjay Manjrekar Changes His Opinion About Ravindra Jadeja



All eyes were on cricketer-turned-commentator Sanjay Manjrekar when the Indian all-rounder, Ravindra Jadeja came out to bowl on Saturday against Sri Lanka at Headingley Cricket Ground. He was included in the playing XI – much to the excitement of fans and critics alike as he has missed the earlier games for Indian in the ongoing ICC World Cup.

In fact, Jadeja’s inclusion was met with a loud cheer among fans, who eagerly wanted to see him in the Blues after his spat with Manjrekar on Twitter.  The latter was seen changing his views instantly for Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, after brilliant by Jadeja in the ongoing match against Sri Lanka.

Aakash Chopra asked the question about the inclusion of Jadeja in the game. Manjrekar said, “Yes, I already told that Jadeja deserve each and every match in this World Cup due to his both batting and bowling ability.”

It all began when Manjrekar called Jadeja a ‘bits and pieces’ player and said like he doesn’t like the player of his quality. The commentator said that he considered the all-rounder as a pure bowler in Test cricket, but he has not been the same in ODIs. Manjrekar said that he would rather have a batsman and a spinner in 50-overs cricket.

The words made Jadeja furious as he slammed the veteran commentator, highlighting the number of matches both has played over their career. While Jadeja has played 151 ODIs, 41 Tests and 40 T20Is for the Men in Blue at the highest level, Manjrekar had donned the national jersey in 37 Tests and 74 ODIs. Jaddu tweeted, “Still I have played twice the number of matches you have played and I m still playing. Learn to respect ppl who have achieved.i have heard enough of your verbal diarrhoea. @sanjaymanjrekar”.
